The International Criminal Lawyers Association (BPI-ICB-CAPI) STRONGLY CONDEMNS the attack on the town of Ogossagou (Mopti region), in the center of Mali, and SOLIDARIZES itself with all the victims, including women, children and the elderly They could not escape the attackers that surrounded the town and burned 400 houses. So far there are already 135 people dead, all of them Fulani ethnic group, killed allegedly by armed men who apparently were dressed as traditional hunters. In addition, another 55 civilians were injured in the attack.

According to Malian authorities, the authors are of Bambara ethnicity known as Dogones. The NGO Human Rights Watch had already warned that during 2018 more than 200 civilians were killed and dozens of villages were burned down in central Mali, as a result of attacks by militias formed by ethnic groups in the area.

From the CAPI we want to express our support for the victims, the authorities and our Malian partners, so that all those responsible for this atrocious crime are arrested and prosecuted by the competent courts.
